Good morning ☀️ I’m writing this to you from late last night. In all honesty, after an extremely lovely weekend, today has been the most Monday Monday I have had in a long time. The vibes today were particularly low, but writing and sending a Substack post out into the ether always brightens my day.
Throughout the week when I see something I would send to someone who liked the same things as me, I add it to a collection in my notes app, and that collection eventually becomes The Digest. Enjoy your curated morning paper, ideally with coffee in hand and a soothing morning playlist on in the background.

I was chatting with some coworkers about what the next water bottle it-brand is, and the unanimous consensus was Owala. I am now seeing this validated all over the internet. I wonder who the first inevitable collab partner will be
I finished this book this week and despite being more complex with some heavy themes, it had undeniable Father of the Bride vibes (major compliment)
Do we normally see this many s’mores themed food items every year or is this sneakily the summer of the s’more? Also, apparently this Saturday was national s’mores day. I will stop saying s’more now
Speaking of those food items, Snackolator is a great IG follow for lovers of chain restaurants everywhere
There’s a new jelly shoe collab in town. Fun, nostalgic, bad for the environment?
Pendant necklaces and bangles are the two jewelry trends I’m seeing over and over again right now. Pendants in particular seem to allegedly be having an effect on the grand scheme of things
This dinner party Kindle case feels like it’s calling my name in a very specific way
There aren’t enough people taking a no-nonsense approach to the fashion industry’s plus size problem. Samyra is doing the damn thing, every time
We’re watching Love is Blind UK which has reignited a previous spark in my brain to write about why this is the most flawed “experiment” of all time. Anyone else watching?
I had zero idea these two were a couple
Despite having mastered the art, typing with long nails is likely the root cause of my carpal tunnel. Imagine my delight when I saw they make a keyboard for this!
Have you guys seen the absolutely unhinged imagery that NY Mag created for this recent series of pet stories? Nightmare fuel
If you never read Trick Mirror by Jia Tolentino, you absolutely must. In the meantime, read all her articles, like this one on Sephora tweens. Always thoughtful and insightful
Chainmail is having a moment. Interesting
Are mall brands experiencing a comeback? (I think yes) And if so, what does that mean for the future of the mall? I personally think it has the potential to be something great
A) I love the design on the header images for this Bustle series and B) I do think I’m actually going to pick up Drew Afualo’s book after hearing some good reviews
Big girls everywhere beware - peplum tops are hitting the trend report (IYKYK)
I’m due for a restock on my go-to Replica perfume, but they just released a Parisian gourmand (notes of Madeleines and vanilla) that I want to sample first
Do you know the muffin cucumber man? I’m thiiiis close to joining the party although it causes me great stress to see so many people using mandolins on the internet (Side note, his brand partnerships? So good)
On the topic of internet food trends… egg flights??
Red was the color of the summer and her older sister burgundy will be the color of the fall. Considering adding this slouchy burgundy bag to the rotation.
The most recent book community drama is the unsolicited sending of sex toys in a book PR box by a publisher who has been under a boycott for almost a year
The Polly Pocket Airbnb is all over my feeds and I loved this (2021!) PP take from
Just when you thought Celine Dion couldn’t be more iconic
So many trends and cultural influences spawn from the gaming community, but I’m not sure if caffeinated handheld ramen noodles will take off. Apparently it comes on the heels of caffeinated BBQ sauce?
I was riveted by this deep dive into Bama Rush, first in a five part series
Something to listen to: an interview with Shiona Turini, responsible for the fashion on Insecure, the Renaissance Tour, and new show Lady in the Lake
RE: Lady in the Lake, I found this article interesting mostly due to the inclusion of Under the Bridge. If you watched it, look up the real story - I don’t know that I find the show to be a responsible portrayal of events
Something else to listen to: my current fave bop is Pass Time by Kendall Robbins
Very intrigued by this new-to-me aperitifs brand with really interesting flavor profiles
Sabrina Carpenter is our butter yellow queen - the dress is great, but I was immediately enamored with this hair and makeup look. It’s like… really good
~And a little of my own scrolling for you~
