Definitely adding your new england picks to my list! I feel like I need to get all my beachy roads in before the cozy months start. I've been in such a reading slump — what's a good rec for getting me right back in? I feel like I need something I can't put down and I just haven't found it yet!!
I also feel like I’m running out of time for my summer TBR!! I personally found Little Monsters to be extremely engaging but it really depends on your taste. The writing made it a very quick read. I’ve also heard The God of the Woods is a good one to get immersed in.
I loved the movie!! I was crying by the end, alone in my living room and feeling so many things haha. I think because I read PHM first, the book didn't have the same pizazz for me but I really enjoyed watching it on screen. And thank you! Same to you <3
I cry every time at the end of the movie😂 So I get it. I think I also read PHM first before reading The Martian. However everyone says to avoid Artemis by Andy Weir👀 He doesn’t do female characters well in that one apparently.
he is, but I have to be honest that I don't know if I love that casting! I pictured him as more regular, you know? Although over time I've kinda come to cast all Weir's characters as Michael C Hall in my head and would've loved that too
You had such a great reading month! I'm in a similar boat for August, I have just one new release on my list and I'm excited about a bit of breathing room to dive into some that I haven't gotten to yet this summer.
I really did! So many good picks and I just really enjoyed reading every one which is the most important thing. I'm sooo excited to catch up on some of my backlist, especially because several of my library holds just came in at the same time. of course.
I use bookmarks haha I love PHM too, such a gooood book, I love Rocky! I hope you enjoy God of the woods, it's the only one of that list that i've read!
Ugh Rocky has my whole heart <3 I can't wait to see how they bring him to life in the movie. They better do him justice!!
I am so excited for God of the Woods - my library hold for the author's other novel, Long Bright River, just came in today so I'll get to that one first.
It’s at the top of my list, but I want to read a physical copy and I can’t bring myself to buy it until I get through some of these ones I already have!

The Martian is my favourite movie. I like the book but thought it was too long in some places. I hope August is a great reading month!

I kinda got that vibe when I poked around his other books - I was pretty satisfied with just those two options. (Also men so rarely write women well).
I'm just sooo excited for the PHM adaptation to come out.
Me too! I think Ryan Gosling is playing Ryland👀

The Cliffs sounds really interesting. Thank you for that recommendation! I'm a bookmark user but occasionally just use my receipt from the library.
It was such a unique read! All of her books are truly lovely too. I love the library receipt and I miss going to the library in person.

I searched for Rocky fanart when I read the book 🤣🤣🤣 It was... definitely something
The God of the Woods is the perfect summer read! I devoured it quickly in July.

If you were closer I’d lend you my copy!
So sweet thank you 🫶🏻
I would be screwed if I tried to remember the page number, that’s crazy.
Usually the book just kinda plops open to it tbh
