Welcome back
to my weekly send of intentionally curated links where we chat all things books, bodies, and culture news. I hope you enjoy and take your time to Digest.
Throughout the week when I see something I would send to someone who liked the same things as me, I add it to a collection in my notes app, and that collection eventually becomes The Digest. Enjoy your curated morning paper, ideally with coffee in hand and a soothing morning playlist on in the background.

Boy Smells + Magnolia Bakery released a banana pudding scented fine fragrance
About a month ago I mentioned chainmail was having a moment. Enter Chappell Roan + Natalie Portman’s recent red carpet looks (+ bonus for Lauren Chan’s IG post here)
Flamingo Estate dropped a new Manuka Honey Rich Cream - “there’s radical strength in softness” (PS: peep the chainmail again)
The keychain-ification of everything lives on - you can now carry your emergency contraceptive in a tiny pill purse
Wiederhoft showed the same dress in 26 different sizes at NYFW
Fishwife continues to make big and smartly strategized moves with an “immersive tinned fish experience” pop up coming soon in NYC
The resurgence of print media perseveres with Old Navy’s 30th anniversary zine + i-D’s impending return to newsstands
Loved seeing James Corbin on the Di Petsa LFW runway
I’m a sucker for coffee inspired anything. AWAY launched the Cafe Edit after dropping teasers with post-runway models from the Eckhaus Latta show (smart!)
Baby pink was the color of the evening at the Emmy’s red carpet
Really enjoyed this read on “Opulent Simplicity” + color trends from
. PS: Pastels are seeping into everything - car colors, interiors - interestingly utopian coded for an increasingly dystopian world, which isn’t a coincidence! The color scheme at Alaia was my favorite - butter yellows, light blues, soft pinks
Melanie Masarin, founder of Ghia, wrote a great Substack post about the anatomy of a personalized bag - charms, strap accoutrements, and more
PS: Anthro has a TON of bag (and shoe) charms that, dare I say, are actually… really cute?
“Publishers try skinnier books to save money and emissions”- how typography tweaks can reduce carbon emissions in book publishing
Intrigued by this upcoming documentary: “Anatomy of Lies: Inside the “Twisty” Story of the Grey’s Anatomy Scammer”
I only wore Sperrys as an attempt at assimilation for popularity’s sake in middle school circa 2008, so I regret to inform you that boat shoes were all over NYFW this year
Rihanna is wearing bathrobes in public + animal print is everywhere. This coat (up to a size 26) gives you a chic combo of both
Really enjoying the “Nice Talk” pod from Marie Claire which features conversations with women like Erica Veurink, Tanner Adell, and Julie Schott (a personal fave)
Julie Schott has a certified roster of incredible brands, the newest of which (to me) is Blip, a smoking cessation brand focused on getting young people to stop vaping - everything they do is so smart and I’m intrigued to see where it goes (more keychains!)
With global temperatures rising, are “Coolcations” the future of travel?
Everyone has reported on it already, but it’s very relevant to our business here - Lemme has dropped GLP-1 Daily supplements. They don’t actually contain GLP-1 at all. I thought we were against the Kardashians shilling flat tummy tea? Take it back, K
“22 Nonfiction Books to Read This Fall” according to the NY Times
Victoria’s Secret relaunched VSX, “The intersection of performance, comfort, and fashion” (activewear). Lots of lime green happening here. They also partnered with Strava for a “movement challenge”
+ Cher is performing at the return of the VS fashion show next month. That’s pretty much… all we know so far. Maybe (hopefully!) they’ll prove me wrong, but I’m not expecting much to be excited about here in terms of meaningful progress
JoJo joins the list of celebs publishing memoirs this fall, including Ina Garten, Cher, Kelly Bishop, and more. JoJo’s “Over the Influence” is out today, 9/17
Some really interesting thoughts on the fragrance boom here from Glossy - also, can you believe this is a thing that exists
“How Chet Lo made his SS25 show inclusive to blind guests”
Got to experience the beauty that is a suburban Target this weekend and snagged these to be my new everyday earrings that I don’t have to be precious about
I love seeing all the Natasha Rothwell interviews out there lately! “Centering marginalized voices is what I’ve been put on the planet to do". (Also - she’s adapting Who TF Did I Marry!?) !!
I was conflicted about Coco Mellors’ debut novel, but Blue Sisters seems to be more up my alley and I’m excited to get my hands on it

Post Malone is now an investor + brand partner of Poppi - “bringing soda back”
This new beauty brand launch, Maed Beauty, piqued my interest. Their red lip kit looks luscious + the brand was selected for Sephora’s 2024 Beauty Accelerate Program
New contender for the triangle it-bag of the fall in chocolate brown suede (or leopard!)
I’m a longtime fan of Maisy + Lennon Stella (any Nashville watchers here?) and I can’t wait to watch this movie
~ A little of my own scrolling for you~
